Public bus on a bus stop as a project sample for COTA

Central Ohio Transit Agency (COTA) Sustainability Plan

The project establishes the first Sustainability Plan for COTA. The Plan aligns with COTA’s Strategic Plan and priorities and address environmental, economic, and social sustainability as key aspects under COTA’s guiding principles of equity, diversity, and inclusivity. The plan involves analysis of COTA’s priorities, a review of key organizational players for sustainability at COTA, creating goals, actions, and metrics to make the plan a reality, and designing a dynamic visual report to showcase COTA’s sustainability commitments.

Our team analyzed COTA’s Strategic Plan to align sustainability goals with strategic priorities; conducted an organizational review to identify key sustainability players and people/departments responsible for data related to sustainability; developed goals, actions, and metrics to implement the plan; and created the written and graphic elements of the sustainability report.

Thematic Map of developments a street as a project sample for American Street Improvement Project

We performed site visit and assessment of existing conditions; GIS mapping of entire corridor and surrounding area; analyzed of a variety of stormwater management practices; created graphic design mock-ups and final versions for presentations and marketing materials; and created rendering of proposed stormwater improvements.

People gathered on a bus stop to collect surveys as a project sample for 16th Street Project

16th Street NW Bus Lanes Project

The 16th Street NW Bus Lanes Project was a continuation of the 16th Street NW Transit Priority Study. The purpose of the project was to improve bus service and reliability on the 16th Street NW corridor by implementing the recommendations of the previous study.

Our team led the public and stakeholder engagement. We were responsible for all branding, outreach materials, meeting materials, and meeting summaries, including surveys in Spanish and Chinese. We also created concept designs and developed cross-section views at key locations showing the placement of the bus lanes and travel lanes. We prepared renderings to show options for lighting, signs, and signals at key locations.
